Commission and Custom Work

Since 1996, John and Zoi have provided custom design and production services for customers who are interested in creating a one of a kind, heirloom quality art glass work of art. Whether it's designed or crafted in-house, they have a proven track record of providing creative high-quality art glass pieces. 
Who can use Glass Endeavors' Custom design team?
We are happy to work with homeowners, business owners, and church staff to create custom designs for your specific need. We also are happy to partner with your interior designers, architects and builders to bring your vision to life - on budget and on time. No project is too small or too large for our team! 
How does the Process Work? 

Step One: Check out our Portfolio

Step Two: Schedule an In Person Consultation

Call the shop (612-721-9553) to schedule a no-fee consultation. We want to make sure we have the time and attention to devote to our first meeting.

Step Three: Gather Your Inspiration

Gather your thoughts, notes, photos, and inspiration prior to our consultation, then bring them along so we can get the best idea of what you are looking for. If you'd prefer to have a brainstorming session, we can do that too!  

Step Four: Attend Consultation

During our consultation, we'll ask you about several things, including target delivery time and budget. In addition to those tactical items, we'll ask about your design thoughts, your goals, and inspiration. Our goal is that you leave the consultation with a solid understanding of next steps including when you'll receive an estimate, design specs, and delivery schedule. (For some simple design work, we can give you an estimate at the consultation meeting.)

Step Five: Design and Estimate Preparation

Our In-house design team gets to work on creating sketches, materials lists and cost estimates for you to consider. We'll also provide an estimate to time to completion. When you decide to move forward with the project, we'll ask you to review and approve the sketches and make a partial payment for your custom art glass order. For complex projects, we'll create detailed designs and ask that you sign-off on those designs prior to getting started.

Step Six: Creation of Your Piece

Once you've approved the design, Glass Endeavors artists start creating your new work of art. For large, complex projects we may contact you to ask specific design questions or give status updates along the way. 

Step Seven: Final Inspection

Once the piece is complete, we'll ask that you visit the shop again and inspect the piece to make sure it fits your specifications. If the piece is small enough for you to carry, you may take it home after a complete payment is made.

Step Eight: Delivery and installation

Time to delivery will vary greatly based on the size, complexity of design and availability of materials. If (for whatever reason), we feel that we won't meet the original timeframe, we'll let you know as soon as we sense there will be a delay. For pieces that are large or need specialized installation, Glass Endeavors is happy to provide delivery and installation assistance.  If the piece is to be installed in a house remodel or new construction, we can store the piece safely until the installation can take place. Extended storage requests will be accommodated when shop space allows (and we may assess a small storage fee).
