Glass Endeavors
offers a wide variety of stained and fused glass classes for everyone from
the beginner to the very advanced. If you're looking to learn how to make
a copper foiled suncatcher, a leaded window, a Tiffany-style lamp, fused
jewelry, a slumped bowl, a mosaic stepping stone or an original creation,
we offer these many classes plus numerous others to suit your interest
and level.

NOVEMBER
Leaded Windows - $75 November 1st, Saturdays, 4 weeks 10:30am -
12:30pm
Learn how to construct windows using lead came and zinc. We'll
discuss reinforcement using re-bar and appropriate designs for leaded windows.
You will need a soldering iron, lead cutter, glass cutter, pliers and glass
supplies for your window. Beginning Stained Glass is required.
Beginning Stained Glass - $85
November 4th, Tuesdays, 4 weeks 6 - 8:30pm
In this class you will make a
small panel using one of many patterns the studio provides. You will learn to
cut glass using a number of techniques, learn how to use special tools designed
for stained glass artists and construct your panel using the copper foil
technique. Please come in prior to class to choose your pattern and glass. No
experience needed.
Glass On Edge - $60 November 5th, Wednesdays, 2 weeks 6 - 8pm
Our Glass On Edge class offers you another process in which to
create fused tiles, bowls and plates. Choose from a variety of frit wafers or
vitrograph (we’ll have pre-made for you) and design your piece using glass that
enhances your selections. Firing schedules are provided and hands on firing
experience as time allows. No experience needed.
Fused Holiday Trees - $30 November 13th, Thursdays, 2 weeks 6 -
8pm
We’re helping you with holiday decorating or your holiday
shopping list with this Fused Holiday Tree class. Each student may make 3 trees
during class time. This simple fusing project is fun and easy for all skill
levels using scrap and a sheet of 96coe glass. Bring cutting and breaking tools
if you have them. We’ll use week 2 for instruction in safe sawing and assembly.
No experience needed.
Copper Foil Treasure Boxes - $40 November 19th, Wednesday, 2
weeks 6 - 8:00pm
The copper foil box is made with all sorts of interesting
possibilities. First, there is the decorative soldering, then there is the
choice of using agates, bevels or a cool combination of glass for the box lid.
Bring your cutting and breaking tools, glass, foil, soldering iron, solder,
flux, odd bits of glass and decorative metal that can be soldered and we will
show you the rest! The first class will be on November 19th, we’ll be closing
early the next wednesday (the 26th) and the second class will take place on
December 3rd from 6-8 pm. Beginning stained glass required.
DECEMBERBeginning Stained Glass - $75 December
2nd, Tuesdays, 4 weeks, 6 - 8:30pm
Class and supplies at Glass Endeavors. Please come in to pick
out a pattern and glass. No experience needed.
Frit Casting Plates- $55 December 4th, Thurdays, 2 weeks 6-8pm
Choose one of our BRAND NEW frit casting molds and spend a
relaxing evening filling in the designs with medium frit. The second week we’ll
do some final touches and cap everything. After firing and slumping you’ll be
amazed at how such a simple form can lead to such an amazing final plate. Space
is limited so sign up and pick a mold before all the good ones are taken. No
experience needed.
Glass Boil- $60 December 6th, Saturdays, 2 weeks, 10:30-12:30
You’ve seen our glass boiled door knobs in the shop and we are
finally ready to offer this as a class. We’ll provide the forms and the firings
and students will be filling the forms and letting the magic happen. The second
week each student will have a disc of boiled glass that we’ll show how to cut
into cabishons, dishes, tiles and of course, knobs. This is a great class for
using up fusible scrap but there is no experience needed.
Paint & Wire Wrapped Pendants- $45 December 10th, Wednesdays, 2
weeks 6-8pm
If you missed our last pendant technique and wire wrapping class
you can make it up to us by trying out this one. The first week will involve
getting a little messy with the fusing paints and being a little creative with
designs. The second week we’ll be cutting up and wrapping the glass fired from
the first week. This is a great class to make sets of jewelry or a pile of
necklaces for gifts. No experience needed.
Super Easy Fused Snowflakes- $40 December 18th, Thursday 1
night, 6-8pm
All you need for this class is a pair of tweezers and a sheet of
glass. We’ll teach you how to cut consistent skinny strips and how to assemble
them on individual shelves to end with surprisingly strong fused snowflakes to
hang in the window or on a tree. Each student will have space to make 2 complete
snowflakes and we’ve got a variety of patterns to choose from. Why not squeeze
one more class in before the gift giving season is over? No experience needed
Glass Endeavors will be closing at 6pm on November 26th and
will remained closed on November 27th. We will also be closed December 24th
until January 6th. Please have a wonderful holiday season!
All prices are for tuition ONLY unless otherwise stated. Please bring your
own tools and materials or purchase them at the time of the class.

Build Your Own Class
Is there a special
class that you and 4 or more of your friends would like to take but we
haven't had it on our schedule or when we've offered it, the timing didn't
work for you? Present your idea to John or Zoi with a list of attendees,
and we will coordinate a special time and curriculum for your group.
Any Time Open Studio
We offer studio
time in 2-hour minimum sessions to anyone wishing to work on his/her stained
glass projects. Workbenches, the Morton System, grinders and the Gryphon
Wire Saw (with the purchase of a package of saw blades) are available for
use during your 2-hour studio time. The studio is open and available during
non-class hours only at the cost of $10 per session. We will happily answer
questions and help you troubleshoot problems as well.
